This week using Processing (a flexible software sketchbook) the team has started to think more about the digitalising and visualising of the weather data. How do we capture that impression of sunshine or rain or wind/cloud?
Touch screen device has been purchased and we have been trialling the design on it this week. Take a look at the latest iteration of the design below:
The image represents some really quick etches on clear acrylic… we are now starting to work out how we will actually present the Flora and Fauna on the interactive map. Imagine this back-lit. Next we will explore UV printing to enhance this even further. Watch this space.
We have started to explore the play of light on the toblerones. Impressionist paintings were ‘characterized by several elements, including unusual visual angles, inclusion of movement, ordinary subject matters, accurate depiction of light and the passage of time, open composition and small, thin but highly visible brush strokes’ (SpokenVision, 2021). We have started to consider the addition of a touch screen to provide extra information on the island’s Flora & Fauna. First steps involve a functioning touch screen infrastructure and then the teasing out of an appropriate ‘fact-file’ aesthetic. Please see below for how our work is evolving.
