We have been back and forth on this exhibit for months and have not being able to decide what way it will work. This week we made a decision on how it will function. Relief. As you will see the weather (sun, rain and wind levels—almost real time from the Flat Holm weather station data) will provide energy and water to the farmhouse on the island. However, often not enough water or sun or wind will be available and the farmhouse will only be partially lit or watered.
When this happens the child/ audience can jump on the pressure sensor mats (in shapes of raindrop, sun and wind cloud) to light and water the house up more.
Once the child/ audience stops jumping on the mat….the lighting and water in the house return to the settings achieved through the weather levels. They reset to the levels before the jump starting.
